- Financial Assistance for Pregnant and Lactating Women (Kulavilakku-Aravanaippu), Puducherry
Under Kulavilakku, Financial Assistance of ₹500/- will be provided to pregnant women to their improve nutritional status. Annual income should not exceed ₹24,000/- and the benefit will be provided for two pregnancy only. The applicant will be considered only when she crosses seven months pregnancy. Under Aravanaippu, to improve the status of the girl child and to provide nutritious food to the girl child; financial assistance of ₹1,200/- will be provided to the Lactating mother. Annual income should not exceed ₹24,000/- and the assistance will be provided only to two girl children in a household.
Rajiv Gandhi Social Security Scheme for Poor Families-2012 provides financial assistance to all the below poverty line family members in the Union territory of Puducherry in the age group of 18-60 years, in the event of natural and unnatural death, partial total disability and permanent total disability, due to accidents.
To provide assistance on the death of the Old Age, Widow and Destitute Pensioners, an amount of ₹2,000/- is granted as Financial Assistance for funeral expenses.
To extend a helping hand by way of a monthly financial assistance to Old Age Persons/Widows/Deserted Women/Unmarried Women and Transgender, so that they could defray some petty personal expenses without depending on others. (i) ₹1,500/- to Widows, Deserted Women, Unmarried Women, Transgender and Old Age people (age from 55 years to 59 years); (ii) ₹2,000/- to Old Age people age from (60 years to 79 years); and (iii) ₹3,000/- to Old Age people age from (80 years and above)
To encourage widows to remarry a bachelor/widower to lead a normal life, an incentive of ₹20,000/- is provided in the form of National Saving Certificate. Annual income should not exceed ₹24,000/-.
Financial assistance is provided to an extend of ₹15,000/- for the marriage expenses of the poor brides who are living below poverty line. Annual income should not exceed ₹24,000/- and the assistance is provided only to the bride for her first marriage. The marriage should comply the laws in force and the assistance is applicable to only one daughter in that family.
