The residential rooftop solar PV system is installed on rooftop of the beneficiary. Beneficiary is entitled to install rooftop system of any capacity irrespective of whatever their sanction load. Bidirectional meter is installed along with the system. The electricity generated by the solar PV system is first consumed by the residential load and if generation by solar system is more than the residential electricity load then surplus generation is fed to grid. At the end of billing cycle if any electrical units are feed surplus in the grid then cash credit at the rate of average pool purchase cost is given in next bill.
